The Plunga is a large dunk tank with a ramp and overhead gunge pumps. Filled with 3,000 Litres of gunge, the pool is large enough to swim in. The participants are sat on the chair and after answering questions, they are raised up the ramp every time they get a answer incorrectly. Once at the top of the ramp, the host or opposing contestent gets to pull the large metal lever and 'Plunge Them'. With that, down they go at speed and into the gunk with falling gunge from above for that added helping of slimey goodness. Once in the large vat of slime, they are often asked further questions for more gunge to cover them from above, made to do tasks such is finding objects, resulting in them having to go right under (again) or having to fulfill dares given to them, such as splatting face first into the gunge with their hands behind their back or filling their clothes or underwear. They cannot escape the pool without assistance, so it's all to play for.

Another game involves the participant having the time it takes for the automatic chair to reach to top of the ramp in order to answer a maths or spelling question. With the ramp only taking about 13 seconds from bottom to top, it is a real race against the clock, and you can guess what happens if they don't get the answer.
